Costa Rica, also called as officially the Republic of Costa Rica, located in Central South America. Surrounded by Nicaragua to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the northeast, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, and Ecuador to the south of Coco’s Island. It is sparsely populated, only with around 5 million. San Jose is the largest and Capital city, with population of  333,980 people. Being a small country geographically, the land mass area is 51,060 square kilometers (19,714 square miles). Costa Rica has a rich tradition of long and stable democracy, high public investments in health and education. The country has consistently performed favorably in the Human Development Index (HDI), placing 69th in the world as of 2015, among the highest of any Latin American nation.

Costa Rica is famous for favorable and progressive environmental policies. Have achieved various awards from UNDP and Environmental organizations for progressive work towards green sustainability and maintaining ecosystems to perfect conditions.

Capital

San Jose is the capital city and also the largest city. San José is the safes test and least violent city in Latin America and attracts huge number of tourists, positioned at 6th place in most visited city in Latin America.

Medical tourism

Recently Costa Rica is also getting attention for medical tourism. As large international tourists yearly visit Costa Rica, some of them opt of treatments also. But Costa Rica does not specialize in medical infrastructure. Primary healthcare is good due to public healthcare

Investments, but tertiary health care is not up to satisfactory level, For example - India has world class tertiary healthcare infrastructure. In terms of medical tourism, better options are available which are much cheaper and far better qualities in terms of medical treatments.

  Climate of Costa Rica

The location of Costa Rica is in tropical Zone. Due to its rich natural biodiversity and forests the country has many microclimates depending on elevation, rainfall, topography, and by the geography of each particular region. Costa Rica has only two seasons - Dry - The "summer" or dry season goes from December to April and "Winter" or rainy season goes from May to November. The best time to visit is during Winter.

  Language of Costa Rica

Costa Rica was a Spanish Colony during colonialism, due to which Spanish became its primary language. Majority of population speaks, write and use Spanish in daily communication. It’s also official and governmental work language. There are also other native languages like Mekatelyu, Patois, Bribri.
